Why Drama? The different issues that we face in life cause us to put on a performance, either one that edifies God, our flesh or the evil one. I would like to call the issues that arise “DRAMA”. Often times these situations allow us to cover ourselves in different costumes of life. But it is time now to face our situation head on with the word of God by dramatized skits that allow us to see ourselves from the outside looking in.
 

Why Theropy? Because the word of God is therapeutic to the mind, soul and spirit. It brings healing and deliverance, after all that’s what therapy is all about isn’t it? The truth of the word brings about a measure of deliverance that goes beyond the surface behavior and grabs the underlining issue by the root.  We use the term theropy instead of therapy because our source of answers is not based solely upon the psychological perspective but mainly upon biblical truth of the word of God!

Mission Statement: Drama TherOpy's mission is to provide a safe space to help individuals overcome real life issues in order to strengthen their identities, enhance relationships, and improve their quality of life. 

 

Vision: For communities of people to be whole in their identities, have strong relationships, and serve as  positive contributors to society.

 

Drama Theropy will consist of two 10 to 20 minute skits, followed by open discussion and concluded with spiritual teaching pertaining to the situation being portrayed. Its purpose is to provide tools for individuals to gain freedom from strongholds and increase their spiritual awareness. 

 

Scripture Reference: To preach good tidings to the meek, bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn: (Is 61:1-2)
